Yesterday I did my best to explain to my 6-year-old what the 4th of July is celebrating. To him, it’s a day for fireworks and fun. I like to think of it as a big birthday party where all the friends and family I know were give a gift to believe differently whether it be in religion or politics, and live life how they choose. Freedom.
